Director of Events

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the events department, including managing all Event Specialists
  • Train and develop the Event Specialist Team
  • Oversee all events
  • Maintain event processes
  • Assign events to Event Specialist once booked
  • Reviews details of upcoming events including timelines, diagrams, decor, and BEOs
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of event industry trends and data on local competitors to continually improve the event planning experience
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new vendor partners
  • Works with sales team to assist in booking events when needed
  • Answer emails and phone calls promptly
  • Complete all event records and paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Prepare all logistic timelines and plans needed
  • Prepare catering notes with extreme accuracy
  • Prepare appropriately for all company meetings
  • Attend all weekly company meetings including Events Meeting & Event Specialist Meeting
  • Train on site, including Event Captains, to ensure proper event execution
  • Oversee all event details by acting as the communicator between all departments
  • Be an ambassador and leader of Dream
  • Attend and make contacts at networking events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000 – $75,000 annually

Event Staff

Responsibilities:

  • Execute catering events from start to finish
  • Review BEO’s & event details with event planner prior to event
  • Ensure guest & client satisfaction
  • Provide positive attitude at all times
  • Proactively identify & resolve any issues that arise
  • Ensure all check out processes are completed
  • Provide exceptional service at each event
  • Protect the integrity of all company product

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous event catering experience required
  • Knowledge of food & beverage etiquette
  • Ability to drive vans & box trucks and navigate to different venues
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on your feet for up to 12 hours at a time
  • Must be able to work in high pressure scenarios
  • Must have strong communication skills and leadership skills
  • Punctuality and a positive attitude are an absolute requirement!

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Sales Specialist

The sales specialist is responsible for the sales efforts, execution of meetings, and assisting the sales team in meeting or exceeding financial targets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist sales team in achieving and exceeding budgeted goals in food, beverage, and events
  • Effectively communicate with the Director of Sales to review opportunities that impact revenue goals
  • Conduct weekly sales calls to existing and new accounts, as well as uncover new business in assigned market segment(s)
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new accounts to enable future bookings
  • Generate leads and new business through internet searches, telephone and email solicitations, mailings, referrals, networking, trade shows, professional and community organizations, sales, blitzes, etc.
  • Respond to all sales inquiries within 24 business hours
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • Responsible for negotiating catering sales contracts and the implementation and set up as required
  • Actively and creatively up-sell each catering event to maximize revenue
  • Participate in management meetings to discuss budget and forecast
  • Be actively involved with assisting the sales leader in any training, mentoring, strategy development, implementation, and execution within the sales department
  • Partner with event team to coordinate customer specifications, effectively respond to customer issues and comments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assists the client in menu planning; coordinates food, beverage, meeting room set-up, decorations and other services as requested by the client; assures that all requirements are communicated and completed to the client’s specifications
  • Other duties as assigned; Some activities include sales calls, entertainment, trade shows, etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (1) year sales experience
  • Familiar with the hospitality industry (preferred)

Catering Driver

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload event equipment and catering on company vehicles
  • Deliver catering and decor around Nashville for events
  • Build Catering packs following pack lists
  • Check for any damages or defects to the products and equipment
  • Show off your organizational skills on a daily basis by keeping warehouse & loading dock clean

 

Qualifications:

  • Flexible schedule
  • TN driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Problem solving skills

  • The ability to have fun, stay calm, and adapt to change

 

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Pay: $16 – $18 per hour

On-Site Catering Chef

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation & display of high quality foods
  • Reading BEOs and prepping food items accordingly
  • Producing consistent, high-quality food using established recipes
  • Reviewing BEOs and creating execution plans
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service
  • Leading a culinary team at off-site events
  • Creating new and reviewing existing equipment lists for off-site events
  • Adapting to unexpected and last minute changes during events
  • Briefing on-site culinary team about each event
  • Ensure good customer relations are maintained at all times

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be highly organized individual
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be on time & ready to work until supervisor releases you
  • Must have basic knife skills
  • Must have fundamental understanding of cooking techniques
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly

Event Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate services to make events memorable for each client and guest
  • Bring client’s vision to life through in-person meetings and calls
  • Organize and confirm vendors for your events
  • Execute catering events from beginning to end to ensure the highest quality
  • Prep your catering team with all the information they need prior to an event
  • Create server duties prior to staff rally
  • Coordinate with event captains to identify ways to make future events even more amazing
  • Be the person the client and event captain go to for all answers
  • Ensure the client and guests are having the best time at their event
  • Be the leader you would want leading you
  • Be a problem solver
  • Protect the integrity of all company product

Banquet Captain

As a full service event company, Dream Events & Catering provides everything from sensational cuisine and entertainment to seamless planning and design for gatherings of 2 to 10,000. We are currently seeking Catering Banquet Captains. This is not an event planner position; it’s similar to a shift leader.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute catering events from start to finish
  • Review BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) and event details with the event planner prior to the event
  • Manage and delegate a staff of up to 30 team members
  • Create server duties prior to staff rally
  • Be a liaison between the client and the event planner
  • Ensure guest and client satisfaction
  • Provide positive leadership to all staff
  • Identify and resolve any issues that may arise in a pro-active manner
  • Coordinate with event planners to identify ways to improve future events
  • Ensure all check out processes are completed
  • Protect the integrity of all company product

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (preferred)
  • Previous event catering experience (required)
  • Knowledge of food & beverage etiquette

  • Bring synergy to our warehouse and kitchen team
  • Have a hand in making every event exceptional by pulling equipment and pieces that will lend to seamless execution on-site
  • Be our on-hand Inspector Gadget for any damages or defects to the products and equipment
  • Show off your organizational skills on a daily basis by keeping warehouse clean
  • Load and unload event equipment on company vehicles
  • Maintain company vehicles
