11 Apr Meet the Dream Team: Jordyn
As a full service event company, our love for food and celebration inspires us to create dreamy dishes and unforgettable gatherings. Our passion for catering and entertainment, no matter what the event may be, inspires us daily to create personal relationships with our past, present and future clients.
None of this is possible without our team. Each month on the blog we’re highlighting a member of the Dream Team and hope that you will have a greater sense of the love we have for what we do daily. The next team member we’re featuring in the series is one of our Event Specialists, Jordyn Jarvis. She joined the team six months ago and loves working with all of the talented vendors in the industry. Learn more about her below.
Where are you from? If not Nashville, how did you decide to move?
I was born and raised in Orlando, Fla. but my husband was offered a promotion in Nashville, and we decided to make the move!
How long have you been in the industry?
I have been in the industry for nine years now!
What made you get into the industry?
I was exposed to the wedding industry at a really young age. My mom worked in the hair and make-up industry and specialized in weddings. I would tag along and “assist” her (really it was just holding bobby pins and getting make up from her case), but by doing so it really exposed me to the events industry.
Everywhere we went, I always watched the event planners and loved the way that they seemed to magically turn this crazy combination of decor, vendors, and food into this beautiful event. I started asking the planners if I could help and learn, and by the time I was a senior in high school I was planning full-blown weddings!
How do you stay on top of everything? Any organizational tips or tricks?
My favorite trick is having a separate binder that holds all of your to-do’s. If I’m waiting to hear back from a client, colleague, or have a general question, the event gets put into the to-do binder with lots of sticky notes. Then I go through the to-do binder every single day and empty it as much as possible. It’s like a physical representation of a to-do list and helps me stay on top of things!
What is your favorite event that you’ve planned?
My best friend’s wedding!
What are some of your favorite current trends in the industry?
I love seeing brides forego the massive wedding cake and opt for a dessert spread with lots of different options.
What is your favorite part about your job?
I love making someone’s day as special as possible!
What are your favorite details to plan?
I really enjoy planning the vendors! It’s a unique opportunity to connect with people in the industry and see what’s new.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to hike and photograph wildlife.
