05 Nov Meet The Dream Team: Ainsley C.
As a full service event company, our love for food and celebration inspires us to create dreamy dishes and unforgettable gatherings. Our passion for catering and entertainment, no matter what the event may be, inspires us daily to create personal relationships with our past, present and future clients.
None of this is possible without our team. This month on the blog we’re highlighting Ainsley Cain, Sales Specialist. With years of experience in the food, beverage, and events industries, she has been a key member of the Dream Team since joining us in 2019. Learn more about her below.
What made you want to get into the industry?
I love attending festivals and events, and after going to quite a few poorly organized ones, I thought to myself, “Hey, I think I could do this and be pretty good at it!” I love the process of creating something out of nothing, and that is what building an event is. Putting all the little pieces together to make the whole thing work really appeals to me. I am obsessive about organization and details!
Do you have any advice for couples who are looking for a caterer?
If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is! Make sure you know what your proposal includes. Also, remember that this is your day. Pick a menu that appeals to YOU.
What’s a question couples or businesses should ask, when they’re looking for a company to plan and coordinate their event?
If you have multiple weddings, receptions, or bookings on the day of my event, how will I be sure I am taken care of? At Dream, we have a great team that can handle more than one event per day, but not every company has that bandwidth. Make sure you are clear about what the process is after you book your caterer!
What’s one of the most commonly asked questions on a sales call?
How much is this going to cost me? I like to tell my clients a good starting point is to think about going out to dinner with a group of friends. If you have appetizers, dinner, and drinks, about how much are you spending per person? That number is a great place to start building your catering budget!
What are some of the challenges you face in the sales process, and how do you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me is when couples are comparing caterers, but the proposals don’t include the same things. I always remind my clients to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Different caterers include different things in terms of food quantity, equipment, staffing, and rentals.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I think my favorite part of my job is having tastings with clients. I love getting to see the couple’s reactions to our food and helping them pick a menu for their special day!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love the outdoors, being physically active, and playing with my one-year-old daughter!
