28 Aug Dream Catering Tips: Creating a Nashville-themed Event Menu
People visit Nashville for many reasons. Southern culture, a big city with a small-town vibe, music, and food are definitely some of the most popular reasons. Because we live in such an inspiring city, you’ll often find us dreaming up Nashville-themed event menus. The food in Music City is like the town – full of soul, flavor, and surprises. Whether you’re planning a party with downtown vibes, shooting for a more East Nashville approach, or going full-on honky-tonk, the perfect Nashville inspired event menu is right around the corner (just like an aspiring musician).
The first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions Nashville food is Nashville Hot Chicken. Our Nashville Hot Cauliflower is a fresh and creative take on the hometown favorite. (Don’t worry, we also serve up our delicious Nashville Hot Chicken.) And is it possible to have a party or wedding in Nashville and NOT include something with the words “pimento” and “cheese” on the menu? Nope. Pimento Mac & Cheese is a client favorite, too.
Many people come to Nashville for the booze – mainly whiskey. That’s why we created a menu full of whiskey and bourbon-inspired dishes and drinks. Jack Daniels Pecan Chicken makes a mouth-watering entree. Guests also love trying our bourbon tasting, full of Tennessee & Kentucky favorites, for an interactive activity.
Signature Hors d’oeuvres
As guests sip on cocktails and mingle, dreamy & delicious hors d’oeuvres are a must-have. And if you’re creating a Nashville-themed event menu, there are so many options that will have guests feeling all kinds of Music City vibes. For these, we love taking Southern classics, elevating them, and serving them in adorable passed appetizer-sized dishes. Our Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits are the perfect examples.

In Nashville, it gets hot. And if you’re wanting to keep guests happy at an outdoor event in the South, you probably want to include refreshing cocktails. Our aptly named Nashville-inspired cocktails definitely do the trick here. Try The Downtown, an Old-Fashioned crafted with Blanton’s Bourbon, a dash of cinnamon, and orange bitters. Or serve up The Gulch, our recreation of the Aperol Spritz, with 2 oz of Prosecco, 1 and 1/4 oz of Aperol and a splash of Topo Chico sparkling water.
